The Project

Visionnaire 2024 is Deakin University’s Film, Television & Animation Graduate Screening. An annual showcase celebrating the creativity, technical skill, and storytelling talent of emerging filmmakers. The visual identity needed to unify a diverse range of student work while capturing the cinematic atmosphere of the event. Assets included the event programme, certificates, and promotional material, all designed to feel refined, modern, and industry-ready.

A poster for Deakin University presenting a film, television, and animation graduate screening event called VISIONNAIRE 2024, scheduled for November 10 at the Astor Theatre. The poster has a dark blue background with a circular graphic and Contains logos of sponsors or partners at the bottom, along with a QR code in the lower right corner.

The Goal

The goal was to develop a cohesive identity system that felt polished and professional, reflecting the significance of the showcase while remaining visually dynamic. This meant creating a flexible visual approach that balanced clean typography with subtle graphic elements.

An open magazine showing pages with photos, illustrations, and text about various topics including people, a sea scene, a person with sunglasses in front of a building, and a cartoon character.
Open magazine spread featuring two pages with images and text. The left page has a heading 'Lap Time' and a photo of people sitting indoors, with a colorful animated image below. The right page shows a person sitting outdoors on a mountain overlooking a foggy landscape, with a heading 'One Foot in Front of The Other' and accompanying text. The bottom of the pages reads 'End of Screening'.
Open booklet showing 'Special thanks' and 'Partners' sections with various logos on the right page.

The Outcome

The final identity features overlapping circular gradients that evoke cinematic lighting and motion. Paired with minimal typography and spacious layouts, the system creates a contemporary, elegant presentation across the programme, internal spreads, and award certificates. The result is a unified visual language that highlights student work, and positions Visionnaire 2024 as a polished industry-facing showcase.
