The Project

Developed for the West Gippsland Football Netball Competition as an engaging alternative to standard award certificates, this project introduced custom-designed trading cards to celebrate young athletes. Each card highlights a player’s nomination or achievement, creating a fun, collectible format that feels personal and exciting.

The Goal

The goal was to design a recognition system that felt more meaningful for teens, something they would actually keep. The cards needed to be bold, modern, and consistent with league branding while still allowing individual club colours and player photography to shine.

The Outcome

The final trading card system features league branding and allows for club variations. The rounded-corner card format adds a polished, tactile feel, turning a simple nomination into a memorable keepsake. The system makes it a fresh, engaging way for the league to celebrate its rising stars.
