Poetry Chapbook

Editorial & Publication Design

Editorial design for a student poetry chapbook exploring memory, connection, loss, and lineage through rich, reflective verse.

From the beginning, our goal was to create a quiet, spacious design that would allow Matthew’s words to resonate without distraction. The layout embraces negative space generously, letting each poem breathe and giving the reader time to absorb the depth of the imagery and emotion.

We chose Goudy as the typeface for its warmth and vintage charm, that aligns with the personal, almost archival nature of the collection. The overall aesthetic is restrained yet intentional, mirroring the chapbook’s shifting tones from tender recollections of family to stark meditations on aging and impermanence.
